Spirit Award

We're bringing back the Spirit Award to give to the nominee whose community demonstrates the most support for their nomination! The winner of the Spirit Award will receive $5,000 to be shared between a $2,500 individual award and a $2,500 donation to their school.

Showing spirit can be as simple as leaving a supportive comment on your LifeChanger's profile, or as big as holding a pep rally in honor of your LifeChanger's incredible work.

I never thought in a thousand years I would win. I didn’t think I would even be nominated. At the same time, I was humbled to see that people notice that I am trying to make a difference
— Nikki Blake, 2016-17 Spirit Award Winner

The moment Nikki Blake was nominated for LifeChanger of the Year, her school rallied behind her nomination. Many of her students and colleagues left supportive comments and shared her profile on social media, but they also showed support in more creative ways. For example, when Ms. Blake received her nominee certificate and poster, they held a surprise pep rally! Even better, they streamed the rally on Facebook Live so Ms. Blake's peers from outside of Pocomoke City Middle School could leave supportive comments. As a result of her school's incredible support, Ms. Blake received the 2016-17 LifeChanger of the Year Spirit Award.
