1. This award program is sponsored by National Life Group, principally located in Montpelier, VT and Addison, TX.  National Life Group includes National Life Holding Company and each of its direct and indirect subsidiaries, including National Life Insurance Company and Life Insurance Company of the Southwest.

3. All entries are the property of National Life Group.  They may not be acknowledged and will not be returned. By participating in this program, each entrant and nominee hereby grants to National Life Group, and to its licensees, successors and assigns, and any person or entity acting on its behalf, with or without any additional notice the irrevocable right (but not obligation) and license to use, publish, display, modify, edit, transmit and distribute the entry, including, without limitation, the names, story and likenesses of any persons or locations embodied therein, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity for purposes without compensation, permission or notification to entrant, nominee, award winner, award recipient or any third party. 

4. Nominees must be a legal resident of one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements described in these rules. Nominees must be K-12 educators, teachers, administrators or any member of a school’s staff at the time of nomination.  This program is void anywhere it is prohibited by applicable law or regulation.  National Life Group may instead, but is not obligated to, modify the program to be consistent with such law or regulation. Employees of National Life Group are not eligible to be a nominee, award winner or award recipient, but may nominate a non-employee, including a family member.  Each entrant may nominate up to three persons in any one program year.

5. National Life Group may in its sole discretion at any time for any or no reason (a) accept or reject any nominee for consideration; (b) add or remove any person from program materials, including any list of nominees, finalists, award winners or award recipients; (c) rescind an award at any time prior to its receipt by the award recipient; and/or (d) remove, edit, amend, shorten, delete or otherwise modify any content appearing on the program website, including but not limited to profiles, comments or links to other content and websites.   Prior to receiving any award, National Life Group may require a named award winner to provide proof of eligibility, tax documentation and other information and to participate in one or more award ceremonies, interviews, marketing opportunities and/or other events at National Life Group’s expense as a condition to receiving the award.  Except as noted in these Rules, award recipients are responsible for all fees, taxes and other expenses (if any) related to receipt of an award.  If a named award winner is not able to meet the requirements and conditions of receiving an award or National Life Group is unable to contact such person, National Life Group may name an alternate award recipient.

6. Limitation of Liability. Upon acceptance of the award, winners agree that (except where prohibited) National Life Group may use winner's name, picture, likeness and voice for advertising, promotional and other business purposes without further compensation. National Life Group, its promotional and advertising agencies, and all respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents shall have no liability and shall be held harmless by winners for any damage, loss or liability to person or property, due in whole or part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance or use of a prize or participation in this program. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this program, but in no event attorneys' fees. National Life Group reserves the right, in its sole discretion for any or no reason, to modify, cancel or suspend part or all of this program at any time with or without notice.

7. This program, including these Rules, are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the State of Vermont (as distinguished from the choice of law rules) and the United States of America applicable to contracts made and performed entirely in Vermont and where the relevant contacts are with such state. This program is intended for viewing in the United States only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to United States law.  Except where prohibited, as a condition of participating in this program, each entrant and nominee agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this program, the awards, and/or or the determination of award recipients shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Each entrant and nominee waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages and further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

8. Potential awards are:

$10,000 split between a $5,000 personal cash award and a $5,000 school donation

$5,000 split between a $2,500 personal cash award and a $2,500 school donation

$3,000 split between a $1,500 personal cash award and a $1,500 school donation

(1) LifeChanger Spirit Award

$5,000 split between a $2,500 personal cash award and a $2,500 school donation

(1) LifeChanger Spotlight Award

$5,000 split between a $2,500 personal cash award and a $2,500 school donation

LifeChanger of the Year is an ongoing program; provided that National Life Group may modify, suspend or cancel the program at any time in its sole discretion with our without notice to any party. Nominations with a respect to a particular program period must be received in good order by midnight on the deadline posted at for that program period.  Award winners will be notified in person by National Life Group promptly after they are chosen.  More information about the schedule for a particular program period is available at

In Texas, due to regulatory reasons, National Life Group will not make a donation directly to a school but will make a donation to a non-profit group that supports the winner’s school.
