About the Nominee: Tiffany Price is dedicated to her students! In her classroom, she is very energetic and always willing to go the extra mile to teach her students in a way that they will understand. Her heart is full of love and joy for her special needs students. Mrs. Price serves on the Henry County Special Olympics Committee as a coach and training coordinator. She previously directed, and now assists with, the Woodland Warriors special needs football team. This year, she has also taken over the Relay for Life Organization at WHS. Mrs. Price serves as a camp counselor at Rockdale Therapeutic Rec. Camp during the summer, assisting students with disabilities during camp activities and trips. She currently works in a mildly intellectual (MID) classroom serving juniors and seniors. Last year, she worked in Newton County changing the lives of fourth graders at Livingston Elementary School.
When speaking to her students about how they have been changed or influenced by Mrs. Price, they say things like, "Mrs. Price never gives up on me, even on my bad days when I feel like I can't do it," or "She knows how to make me say, 'Oh, I get it now!'" Both of these quotes stand true. Mrs. Price always pulls through tough situations with love and admiration from her students. If you ask any of her colleagues or other staff members, they never speak negatively about Mrs. Price. Most of them say, "Her students are more than that, to her, they are her children."
Mrs. Price changes lives by teaching her self-contained students life skills to improve their ability to be successful in the future and understand the real world. She uses different techniques and strategies to fit all of her students' needs, both in and out of the community. She has so many students and colleagues who view her as a LifeChanger. She truly is 110% dedicated to her "children" and strives each and everyday to teach them new concepts that will help them through life.
