About the Nominee: Theresa Holloran was nominated by a colleague, Linda Milan.

Theresa Holloran is energetic, loved, respected and much requested by parents as the teacher for their child. She has been in education for 27 years and has spent 13 of those years at Woodstock Elementary School. She is not only a great first grade teacher, but has roles in many school teams and committees, including being chairperson of the SCA.

Mrs. Holloran meets with students after school throughout the year to come up with projects to help the school and community, such as collecting coins for United Way. She and her students also hosted a Yankee Candle sale to help purchase instructional materials and computer supplies. Mrs. Holloran is also her school's Teacher Forum Representative and meets with the superintendent. She is Woodstock's PTA representative for grades K-2 and volunteers for many PTA-sponsored events such as Pizza Bingo Night, Carnivals, etc. Additionally, Mrs. Holloran is a member of the Staff Welfare and Teachers as Readers committees.

Many years ago, when Woodstock's beloved cafeteria monitor "Granny" passed away with cancer, Mrs. Holloran started a Relay for Life Team called "Granny's Angels." Throughout the year, Mrs. Holloran and the committee sponsor many great events to raise funds for cancer research and causes. Some of her colleague's favorites include the Chili Bake Off and The Gently Used Pocket Book Sale. Mrs. Holloran is the team representative who attends Relay for Life meetings and turns in fundraiser sales. During the Relay for Life walk, she sets up a tent and stays the weekend to attend all of the events and ensure the track is continuously walked.
