Tawnya Mortensen

About the Nominee: Tawnya Mortensen was nominated by her principal, Jacque Mangham.

Tawyna Mortensen is dedicated to students! As a bookkeeper, she is always available to support student needs. She is patient, kind and truly cares about the welfare of students. She goes out of her way - including spending her own money - when other teachers haven't turned in a purchase order on time and a purchase is required for students to make sure they get what is needed. Ms. Mortensen puts students first; she has excellent rapport with them, and they freely seek her out, even if only to say "good morning." She has a positive and welcoming smile when she works with parents, staff and students. Ms. Mortensen is the type of person who sets an example of what is good within the school and her community. She is truly a LifeChanger!
