Stefanie Friedman

Position: First Grade Teacher School: Robinson Elementary School

School District: Clear Creek Independent School District

City, State: Seabrook, Texas

About the Nominee: Stefanie Friedman was nominated by her principal, Yolanda Jones.

Stefanie Friedman is a LifeChanger because she sincerely loves her students, their families, her team and the entire Robinson Elementary School community! She is always willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the school's 500 students are provided with every opportunity to achieve success. One example from this school year is that she made weekly home visits to one of her students who was undergoing cancer treatments for leukemia. This student was unable to attend school and was being provided Home-bound Services through the district, but Ms. Friedman continued to visit with the student and their parents each week. She provided academic support, friendship and a true home-school connection.

As part of Robinson's journey to becoming both a State and National School of Character, Ms. Friedman served on Robinson's Character Community and organized a grade level service learning project with the assistance of her team and the first grade students. As a results of her efforts, Robinson had its first annual blood drive (in honor of the aforementioned student). It was so successful that the school had to turn people away after 7:00 p.m. Robinson Elementary was also named a Texas State School of Character in January 2016 and National School of Character in May 2016. None of this would have happened without Ms. Friedman! She truly is a LifeChanger!
