Position: Second Grade Teacher
School: Reeltown Elementary School
School District: Tallapoosa County Board of Education
City, State: Notasulga, Alabama
About the Nominee: Kristi Spraggins was nominated by a colleague, Casey Davis. Mrs. Spraggins is a product of the county school system, as well as the daughter of a former teacher in the system and a local policeman. After completing her education, she married her high school sweetheart and returned to her roots to make a difference in the lives of Tallapoosa students. During that return, Mrs. Spraggins' parents moved in with her family due to her mother's health. Despite all of these changes in Mrs. Spraggins' life, she has never allowed it to be a stumbling block and has never let it restrict her from doing what is best and needed for her students. She is at school early, late, on the weekend or whenever needed to make sure her students get the best of her! She has a genuine love for students and a heart as big as the world, and she never accepts, "I can't," from any child. Mrs. Spraggins is actively involved in her school's sports and spirit activities along with her local church. She is a teacher that has the change factor needed to take something from "good" to "great," whether it's only one student or an entire classroom. Mrs. Spraggins is definitely a LifeChanger in her small town, and her legacy will be remembered by the students whose lives she has changed.
