About the Nominee: Ashley Arff is a special education teacher at Crosby School. She works with students that have autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, learning and developmental disabilities and emotional disorders. For the past two years, she has worked very hard with one particular student with autism. She has taught them amazing things, including how to communicate with others and express what they need. Ms. Arff attended trainings and consulted with experts on how to make this student's educational experience beneficial.

She has a heart of gold and the patience of a saint with her students. Ms. Arff is compassionate and very hard working. For the 2014-2015 school year, she also coached the Harvard High School varsity girls basketball team and instilled her athletes with these same values. She had her athletes volunteer and give back, both on and off the court. What impresses Ms. Arff's colleagues is her attitude. She never complains and is always willing to help more students as they move in. She cares about each and every student she serves and has a passion for kids in need that goes above and beyond her role as a teacher!
